Nepalgunj: Emergency services have been provided free of cost to the poor and needy in 15 government hospitals across the country, including Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj, Banke. The Ministry of Health and Population has started the free service by formulating procedures.
In the first phase, the National Trauma Center and Kanti Children’s Hospital have started free emergency health services. The government had included this type of service in its policies and programs for the current fiscal year.
According to Madhav Tiwari, Press Coordinator to the Minister for Health and Population, the primary hospitals have started providing free emergency health care to the poor and needy.
According to him, there are Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center, BP Koirala Lions Center for Ophthalmic Studies, Kanti Children’s Hospital, National Trauma Center, vir Hospital, Shahida Ganga Lal National Heart Center and Koshi Hospital.
Similarly, Narayani Hospital, Bharatpur Hospital, Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences, Bheri Hospital, Surkhet Provincial Hospital, Dadeldhura Hospital and Mahakali Provincial Hospital will provide free emergency services to the poor and needy.
