Nepalganj : A man accused of killing and abducting a child was found hanging in the custody cell of the District Police Office, Banke on Thursday night.
Babulal Raidas, one of the accused in the abduction and murder of a child in Banke, was found hanging in the custody cell of the District Police Office, Banke on Friday morning.
Banke Police Chief Superintendent of Police Om Bahadur Rana said that the accused was found hanging from a window sill of Raidas Police Detention Cell with a cloth tied around his head. According to him, the court was investigating Raidas in the case of indecent and duty killing.

According to the police, the accused Raidas made a snare of cloth tied around his head and hung it on the window sill of the detainee.
Raidas had been involved in various criminal activities as part of the then underground group Tarai Janatantrik Mukti Morcha (Jwala Singh). He had earlier been sentenced to eight years in prison in an arms and ammunition case, police said.
