Nepalganj : Wild elephants coming from Bardiya National Park have caused panic in Madhuwan Municipality-1 of Bardiya.
Dhaniram Tharu of Madhuwan-1 said that the elephants that come from the forest of Bardia National Park every day damage the paddy, soybean and other crops. According to him, 45-years-old Krishna Prasad Tharu, who was chasing the elephants last night, was injured in the attack. Elephants from the national park destroy homes every year, attack and injure locals, and damage dozens of acres of farmland. Tharu said that on the one hand, there was a problem of running water and on the other hand, he was scared of elephants.
Ward Chairman Bintiram Tharu said that they are continuously working to prevent the loss of wild animals and to protect the locals. Tharu informed that repairs were being prepared due to malfunction in the analyzer machine and falling poles.
