Kathmandu. The dispute of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has reached an agreement after the two presidents reached a consensus. The two chairpersons have also made a joint proposal to be submitted to the standing committee meeting and distributed to the standing committee members.
In the proposal, Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ have included the report submitted by the party’s problem-solving task force and the suggestions made by the secretariat members. Oli and Prachanda finalized the joint proposal after a three-hour discussion at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar on Wednesday.
The NCP has called a meeting of its standing committee for Friday. The meeting, which started on July 26, was adjourned on July 29 after Oli’s resignation was demanded. The controversy escalated on July 29 when the Oli faction stopped and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, including Dahal, continued to hold the rally.
According to the proposal, Oli and Prachanda have agreed to run the party on the basis of rules and procedures, reorganize the cabinet, review the responsibilities of the central members and start preparations for the general convention from November.
According to a leader, the NCP has proposed to hold a meeting of the Central Committee from November 3 to 4 to pass the action plan.
